FYI- Elementary families, Friday is quickly approaching!

👏🏼It's Saturday, so you know what that means....speech meet- STATE SPEECH to be exact! 👏🏼 Today was filled with many firsts for the DAHS speech team. We had our first fire evacuation. This was about ten minutes before competition was to begin. (The heat press used for tournament shirts set off the sensor.) We had our first All State recipients (Kara, Jade, and Kali). We finished the day with three competitors placing in the top 8 in their respective events. Kara—3rd Serious Prose, Jade—6th Impromptu, and Kali—8th Inform. All of their hard work and dedication paid off, and we are so proud of them. It is tough to watch a senior member compete in her final competition, but to see her do so well makes it a little more bearable. 😭 Thank you, Kara, for your dedication and hard work these past three years! You will be greatly missed and don't forget to stop in next year to give your feedback at a practice or two! ☺️ Congratulations, ladies!! 🏅

🔭These students are off to Fargo for the State Science Olympiad competition! Tonight they eat, swim, study (🤞), order door dash (because why not?), and stay up longer than they probably should. Tomorrow...they bring it and go head to head against both Class A and Class B schools from around the state. We are super proud of each of them! 🩶🤍🖤

A great showing by our 5th and 6th graders at the North Central North Dakota Music Festival in Mohall today! All performances received Superior ratings (blue ribbons). We’re proud of the effort and preparation these students put in. You’ll walk away with tips and tools to help protect your children and maybe even a door prize! 🙌🏼 👶 Free child care will be provided, so you can attend worry-free! 🍽️ Please be sure to RSVP so we can get an accurate count for supper. This evening, we hosted our very first Academic Challenge at Anamoose-Drake Elementary! 🧠📚 We had 6 teams compete—2 from Velva, 2 from Fessenden, and 2 from Anamoose-Drake. Each team consisted of 2 fourth graders, 2 fifth graders, and 2 sixth graders. It was great to see so many students showing off their knowledge, teamwork, and problem-solving skills! Congratulations to both Fessenden teams for taking 1st and 2nd place, and to our Anamoose-Drake Black Team for earning 3rd place! 👏 All of the students did an awesome job, and we are so proud of their efforts. We’re already looking forward to making this an annual event and growing it even more next year!
