Today the SADD students celebrated “National Day of Unplugging” (actual date Feb 6th). They started the day with a presentation at Dakota College at Bottineau on mental health and the importance of unplugging. Then, they ventured off to the Bottineau Winter Park for some screen free fun out on the snow hills!! A great message and a great day!!

Yesterday, three seniors attended a Stop the Bleed Training put on through the McHenry County Extension office. Through this training they were able to learn how to pack a wound and use a tourniquet. They also learned why these skills are important in rural areas. They were sent home with a kit that contains items to help stop a bleed or save a life until emergency services were able to get there. Thank you to the Drake Fire Department for hosting and to the McHenry County Extension for putting this training on!

The Academic Olympics were held today in Bottineau. After a strong sprint round, this group headed into the lightening round in 1st place! Using strategy and wit, they battled but ended up falling just short. 2nd place is still a win in our book!! Great job and way to represent! We are so proud of each of you!!
