Can you say YUMMY?!😋 Friday's lunch was a hit at the elementary school! It was made with lots of locally grown products!!!
School garden items include:
Baked potatoes
Broccoli
Tomatoes and onions for the chili
Cucumber salad
Zucchini, summer squash and raspberries for the chocolate cake
Pickled Banana Peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots in the salad bar
And locally grown beef from the Bruner Angus Ranch for the chili and taco meat.
Not locally grown but we take great pride in it, is our fresh baked bread from scratch!!

It was an exciting morning in the Elementary building.🏈 The football boys came over and helped Mr. Bartz with some football activities during the phy-ed classes! The kids loved interacting with the boys. We wish them luck on their game tonight against HWC!
FBLA is hosting a blood drive at the school on September 4 from 9:30-2 pm. We have a lot of afternoon spots open if you are able to donate! Please call 465-3732 to donate.
Velva-DA- Garrison Aggies take on the Kindred Vikings Friday, August 23. Game of week. You can watch the game from this link or on WDAY Extra. We're about a week into the new school year and it's been a great one so far! The elementary students enjoyed popsicles outside before the end of the day.☀️
Elementary families: a reminder that our Back to School Open House will be tonight (August 13) from 7-8 pm. Come meet your teacher, locate your locker, and drop off school supplies for the first day! We're excited to see you all!
Picture day is Thursday, August 29, starting in Anamoose at 8:15, then in Drake after completed. Scherling Photography will be doing pictures for 2024-25. Photo and merchandise order forms will be available. To order online, see information below. (*Retakes will be Thursday, October 10. Packets MUST be returned at the time of retakes and the same package will be printed with the retake picture. No pictures will be printed until the old picture packet is received. If a student was not present for the first picture day, submit the order form at the time of retakes on October 10.)

Aug. 8th- JV/V Football practice starts
Aug. 12th- XC practice starts. First day of practice will be in Velva at 9am. Bus will leave Drake at 8 am.
Aug. 19th- VB practice starts
Aug. 19th- JH Football practice starts
Reminder that boys peewee basketball season has been moved to the spring.
Fall sports practices are starting very soon. Athletes must have a physical on file with the school or turned in to their coach prior to being allowed to practice.
