Our first Family Fun Night in a long time at Anamoose-Drake Elementary was a big success! Students and families had a great time exploring the awesome stations brought by the Magic City Discovery Center. Kyle Volson has been selected to play in the 2025 Shrine Bowl for the 11-Man West team. The game will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 3pm on the campus of Mayville State University. Brayden Bossert, Evan Rensch, Reggie Bruner, and Treyson Iglehart from the Velva-Drake/Anamoose-Garrison football team have also been selected! Congratulations to all!

The Entrepreneurship class is holding a Market Day on April 29, 11 am-12:30 pm at the high school. The students are selling beverages, baked goods, rock candy, cookie dough, air fried Oreos, cake pops, and there will be a Photo Booth.

The FBLA awards night that was scheduled for April 25 has been postponed, to be determined at a later date.
It was the Region 8 Regional Speech Meet yesterday. The meet began in the later afternoon and went late into the evening. It was a full day for the students, but if they were drained from the week, they didn't show it. Here are the results:

Kara—Serious (2nd) State-qualified
Zack and Kara—HDD (3rd) State qualified
Zack—Radio (2nd) State-qualified
Mason—Extemp (3rd) State-qualified
Kali—Inform (5th)

Overall, they placed 4th as a team. Not too shabby for a small group of students from a small school. Wonderful job to each one of you!! Also, thank you to our coaches Mrs. Bartz and Mrs. Uhlich! Great job!!!
Everett, Ryder, Quincy, Ella, and Tiegan were chosen by the Minot Area Chamber EDC to compete in the National Civics Bee based on an essay they had written about problems they see in their community and how they would tackle it. They also had to explain how their solutions incorporated Founding Principles and Civic Values. Today was competition day which entailed three rounds- two of grueling questions and one with a judges panel. Everette advanced to the 3rd round of competition and qualified for STATE this summer! We are so proud of these students!! Great Job!!
The 4th graders had their instrument fitting yesterday for next year’s band class! It was fun to watch them explore different instruments and start to find their musical match. Can’t wait to see what they choose!

FBLA State Conference Results!
Many of the middle and high school members of this chapter placed and qualified for National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California this summer! Congratulations to the high school members who nationally qualified! Shaylee Hase, Emily Countess, and Giselle Mayer taking 3rd in Introduction to Business Presentation. Shaylee Hase, Mariah Mack, and Giselle Mayer taking 4th in American Enterprise Project. Zack Volson and Brady Hauff getting 1st in Broadcast Journalism. Zack Volson taking another 1st place in Electronic Career Portfolio. Evelyn Isaak and Zack Volson taking 1st place in Partnership with Business. Evelyn Isaak, taking 2nd place in Public Speaking. Bella Boucher and Olivia Fahy with 4th place in Data Analysis. Jade Uhlich taking 2nd place in Human Resource Management. Mason Schuh taking a 1st place in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure.
Other high school members who placed at State Leadership Conference: Bianca Burkle with 7th place in Intro to Parliamentary Procedure, Jacob Klimpel with 7th and Dylan Coblentz with 9th in Introduction to Informational Technology, Kara Coblentz with 9th place in Public Policy and Advocacy, Mason Schuh with 6th place in Organizational Leadership, Jade Uhlich taking 5th in Future Business Leader, Mariah Mack with 5th place in Introduction to Public Speaking. The FBLA chapter also received the Membership Achievement Award and the North Dakota Gold Award.
